Goals and Design

Now that we have explored learning theories that are the foundation of instructional design. Our goal is to consider instructional design models,
these processes assist us in applying learning theories in a systematic, yet
often iterative manner as we design instruction. Although there are many
different approaches, most ISD models follow ADDIE: Analysis, Design,
Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.
The following describes each stage of ADDIE:
- Analysis - The process for identifying and defining what is to be learned
- Design - The process of determining how it is to be learned-based on audience need, timetable, and budget
- Development - The process of authoring and producing the learning materials
- Implementation - The process of installing the learning solution within the real-world business environment
- Evaluation - The process of measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning, based on the stated objectives
With this is mind, we have developed four lesson via tutorials that you can watch in hopes that you can implement them in your distance education program.

Purpose and Rational of ISD Project
Course Rational: This course exists to give the student the
skills needed to design and manage instructional projects in the growing and
changing distance education environment. The student will learn about the
importance of integrating the principles of instructional design into the
development of training, support, and all facets of instructional technology
management for various environments.
Description: The purpose of the module or workshop should
be to assist pre-service educators, educators, administrators, or staff in
developing an attitude, skill, or knowledge to assist them with the meaningful
integration of technology or distance education in the classroom, school,
university, or organization. Thus, the lesson maybe developed for a K-12
setting, higher education setting, corporate, or government setting. The
project should be based on a real-world environment of your choice.
